Lean Six Sigma

What is Lean Six Sigma?

Lean Six Sigma is a business and data-driven, disciplined approach to reducing inefficiencies and minimizing errors. Lean Six Sigma focuses on reduction of waste, increased productivity, and customer satisfaction. It is a method of integrated management used by organizations to more effectively and efficiently meet the needs of their customers and other interested parties.

Our CEO and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Catherine Larson, has taught Lean Six Sigma classes and deployed programs for agencies, vendors and consultants across the country, facilitating process improvement efforts that have resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost savings.

How We Incorporate It

As part of any client engagement, we use the core concepts and critical success factors for achieving breakthrough results using Lean Six Sigma principles.  We provide a structure for change and adaptability, as well as metrics to know if the change is working.

DMAIC

Key to Lean Six Sigma is the use of the DMAIC which provides the structure to improve the existing processes. Each phase contains tasks and tools that lead the team to find solutions.   The DMAIC is used:

  • In complex problems, when the causes and solutions are not obvious. To get to the root cause of a complex problem, you need to bring together people with different areas of knowledge or experience.
  • When the solution risks are high. A key part of DMAIC is developing testing and refining solutions before you implement them.
